/judged - I'll explain

f you haven't noticed - project bleven is a bit tongue-in-cheek . We love internet memes because we love inside jokes, and made up words, and the idea that these ideas spread around the world because of the internet only makes them that much better.

Now I didn't watch the trial for Casey whats-her-name - however I was in front of a TV when the kid made his move to flick off the prosecuting attorney and I witnessed live the Judge's response.

The judge's measured SMACKDOWN of this kid was completely enthralling to watch; I knew instinctively that the judge was thinking to himself this entire trial (which was a circus)

"I wish a MF'r WOULD be in contempt of court."

This kid's decision was the catharsis that the judge was waiting for. When he was done putting his foot clear into this kids temporal lobe he made this face...

This face should be used in conversation as /judged -- You are welcome internet.

Captain America: The First Avenger -- Movie Review

Yeah, this movie was friggin sweet.  To quote my text message to K-Dizzle, "Captain America is the TRUTH!"
Here's a random shot, because why the hell not?

I judged it, and it was so.  I'm not sure how much more I can say about Captain America: The First Avenger that would sum it up any more than that.  Go buy a ticket, sit in your seat, and enjoy your heaping helping of awesome.  Oh, and don't forget to stay until the post-credits scene plays.  It will blow your mind.

Star Wars: The Old Republic

So, Kris and I have been talking about this game for some time.  Mainly about the rumored cost of the thing, but also whether of not this new MMORPG even has a chance against the World Of Warcraft juggernaut.  Way back in the day, we used to debate what was needed for a sci-fi MMO to be successful, and the point we kept coming back to was the fact that swords always ended up being either equal to or much stronger than a rifle.  It just never made too much sense...unless you're talking about the Star Wars universe.

Another point we often talked over was the fact that you had to have something to do when you're not in a quest.  Crafting or mining never made too much sense in Star Trek or any of the superhero MMOs.  But, this is the Star Wars universe -- much of the place is portrayed as a futuristic frontier, with settlers and dirt farmers trying to eke out an existence.  Suddenly, all sorts of mining and crafting make sense, and fit in with the narrative.

In the end, only the MMO players will decide if SW:TOR will be a hit or not.  Bioware has certainly put some significant marketing muscle behind the game, and they'll need every last bit if they're hoping to survive in this tough MMO environment.  I'll touch back with this topic around launch time, and then again maybe a month or two later to see which way the wind is blowing.

The AMAZING Spider Man trailer!

The Spider Man that we all know and love of Sam Raimi is getting a reboot in the new "The Amazing Spider Man" movie coming from the Marvel camp.

Smitty and I are in agreement - we wanted to dislike this movie something fierce. The essence of the Raimi Spiderman franchise felt identical to the comics that it was emulating and the stories and performances met the expectations.

This new movie however looks pretty good and the trailer is solid gold. We could be being lead into a trailer based disaster but until something proves otherwise. I'm in.
